Fee Schedules

CHL Class Fees to be paid to JL's Guns:

Scheduled Classes 

    • New CHL  -  $110.00 each 
    • $200.00 for Married couples attending on the same day
    • All Renewals  -  $85
    • Active Duty Military New CHL - $95.00 (Military ID required)

You may also pay the total amount at paypal if you would like to use credit card.  Otherwise the balance is due upon arrival at class.  Cash or check will be required.

AS OF MARCH 1, 2011 TEXAS CHL WILL ONLY ACCEPT ELECTRONIC FINGERPRINTS.  YOU CAN GET THESE DONE PRIOR TO OR AFTER TAKING THE CHL CLASS.  Go to Texas DPS and fill out the application first.  Then go TO WWW.L1ID.COM AND SELECT TEXAS ON THE MAP.  THEN SELECT SCHEDULE AN ONLINE APPOINTMENT.

CHL Fees to be Paid to the DPS with Application:

(Paid by applicant to the state of Texas with Application submittal):

    • New CHL  -  $140.00
    • Active Duty / Reserves / National Guard  -  $0.00
    • License is good until your first birthday after 4 years from issue date.
    • Renewal   -  $70.00
      • 5 year license
    • If you are 60 years old at the time DPS receives your application  -  $70.00 new and $35.00 every 5 years after that.

For first time applicants, you have 2 years from the date of taking the class to file your paperwork and pay the state fee.

Renewals have 1 year from the expiration date to file for your paperwork, pay the state fee, complete the course, and get packet to the state. 

Basic Handgun Safety and Training Fees:

Classes

    • Basic course  -      $90.00 per person
    • Includes all training documentation, range fee, firearm (22 LR semi-auto), and ammunition.  You may bring your own firearm and ammunition if you would like to take the class with a caliber other than 22 LR.

Firearm and Ammunition Rental Fees:

I have firearms available for use in the Concealed Handgun Licensing course.  I require that you buy the 50 rounds for the class from me at the prices listed below.

    • 9 mm Semi-auto -  $15.00
    • 40 S&W Semi-auto -  $20.00
    • 38 Spl Revolver -  $25.00

You must notify us in advance of the class that you will need to rent a firearm.
